Skidaway Farms Board Meeting Minutes: 11.17.21
Present: Jill Corbin, Monica Hughes, Michael Kahn, Jane Kollman, Dorcas Popp, Tom Rosen,Joe Tyson

Treasurers Report: Tom Rosen presented current balance sheet and profit and loss statement to the board. It was decided that only raised beds will be depreciated, not in-ground plots. Joe made a recommendation that all new farmers will have a plot enclosure in good condition installed or repaired at the expense of the farm and will then be responsible for its upkeep and/ or replacement if needed. Tom purchased an HP laptop business computer which will be used solely for use of the farm. Cost was $879.
Drainage Update: Joe is currently working on feedback and advice from Sean Burgess, Bill Campbell and Alan Dickinson for viable solutions to our drainage problems.
Feedback from Movie announcement: there was no negative feedback from letter informing the farmers of the amount the farm received from the filming. Responses were positive.
Garden Plots: farm has 12 plots ready to go and 5 were sold this past week with more prospective farmers on the wait list and ready to rent.
Work party: to be scheduled on 12/4 at 10 am. Blast will be sent to farmers.
Compost delivery for spring 2022: our annual compost delivery will be organized this year by Dorcas Popp and Tom Rosen. Checks will be required before compost is delivered and will be deposited in the Skidaway Farms mailbox at the association or delivered to Dorcas. No one will receive compost unless they are paid up in advance.
Tom Davis Memorial Proposal: Jill Corbin proposed that the farm install a “free library” with a plaque honoring Tom. She distributed pictures of the one she proposed that would be suitable for the farm. The books enclosed would be about gardening. Barn builders will be consulted to see if they could replicate the one chosen in a weather resistant composite.
Holiday Party: Dorcas has cordially invited the board to a party at her home on 12/8 at 6 pm. We will honor Ralph at this event as well. RSVP to Dorcas.
