Tom also has set up a new designated Skidaway Farms mailbox at the Association building that farmers can use. He will be preparing the new budget for the upcoming year this month. Saturday, July 18 7:30 – 10:00am It’s that time of year when we clear our summer gardens in preparation for our kindler, gentler fall garden season. All farmers are invited to the farm tomorrow for a work party to clean up individual plots, pathways, and along the edges of unrented neighboring plots. Let’s all do our part to make the farm a beautiful, enjoyable place for everyone. Bottled water will be provided!

Our farm supply budget was up from 2020 proposed budget because of two items: new wheelbarrows (offset by a donation) and tractor part.Tom deposited $5,000 from our checking account into an 18 month CD account at Live Oak Bank and will deposit another $5,000 in November. We’ve been able to balance our budget, attract many new farmers, maintain and elect a hard working board and benefit from a generous donation year. Currently, there are 137 plots that are rented which reflects an increase of 22 new farmers since January 1st. There are two on our wait list for next fall as plots are currently being solarized.
