Skidaway Farms is now partnering with Second Harvest to help feed those in need in Chatham County. Farmer, Denise Cunningham has been hard at work to develop the Farms’ food collection initiative which will kick-off this Saturday, June 30th at the Farmers Gathering at 9:00 am.
Here’s how it will work:
Coolers will be placed next to the Farm’s Bulletin Board every Saturday at 10 a.m. and remain there until 4 p.m. on Sunday. Any donations from your plot that you wish to make should be placed inside the coolers during that time frame.
On vacation and don’t want your crops to go to waste?
Vacation flags…hot pink in color… will be distributed at the Farmer Gathering and will also be available in the shed. Just plant one of these pink flags in an easily visible spot in your plot to let us know your crops are ripe for the picking during your absence. You can get one of these flags from inside the Farm shed.
