Many kudos to Cathy Adler, Maddie Harwood, Pat Morris and Lynne Schwartz for the perfect Wine Pairing event held last night at Delegal Harbor’s Sunset Room. It was a feast to behold…Smoked Turkey Canapes mated with a delicious white varietal wine, Alamos Torrontes – from Argentina…Re-Stuffed New potatoes married with a Carpineto Cabernet Sauvignon from Tuscany…the most-popular Crab Salad Canapes matched with a French Cotes du Rhone Blanc….and last – but most-assuredly not least – amazing Lollipop Lamb Chops topped with an old southern recipe for mint jelly which blended seamlessly with Australia’s McWilliams Shiraz. All this was followed by the most exquisite Petite Lemon Tarts topped with a blueberry and finished off with an Italian sparkling Prosecco by La Marca!
No wonder many folks lingered to while away the rest of the evening with some good conversation while enjoying the rest of the wine as well….(but of course!)
In a word, the evening was fantabulous!
The sold-out event was organized by Skidaway Audubon to support Skidaway Farms and to help the Farm pay down its initial construction costs. The Farm is indeed thankful to Skidaway Audubon, the many volunteers that staffed the event and in particular, Cathy Adler for her leadership in coordinating everything!
Thanks to all who attended the evening….your financial support has helped the Farm make ends meet in our inaugural year! (10/13/11)
