Not to alarm y’all but just to warn you…
One Farmer’s recent sighting of a swamp rat in his plot vexed him so…until he saw the solution the next day in the slithering body of a black snake that had sensed the presence of the rat and had come to pay it a visit.
Nature has its way of balancing things rather nicely…if only we humans would let it work its magic. Impatient creatures we humans are … which would account for the knee-jerk reaction of this Farmer to try to kill the rat…something he wasn’t able to do… and instead had to wait for the more suitably-talented hunter to dispose of the unwanted furry visitor.
A lesson learned in the way of all-things-great-and-small…and in the fact that, like the swamp rat, we Farmers are visitors also…so we should tread lightly as we go…and marvel at the journey our Farm is on… and that we have such a splendid place to marvel in. (7/5/12)
